The following is the script for the 2024 Ball Drop Blitz play, performed 01 January 2025. The prompt for the writers was “AC/DC’ songs, and I was given the scene title “Thunderstruck”. We also had to work in the line “A hug is always the right size”, as well as a pair of devil horns into the plot.

I need to write more. Fuck, really. I stopped for way too long and it sucks. I wanted to do a weekly column for a while, but for some reason, I never really started. We are all cooped up now for the forseeable future, so here goes. This is the first of hopefully many.

Here is a short play I wrote for the 2009 summer blitz at the bartell theatre in Madison, WI. The theme was “Malcom McDowell movies”, and we picked play titles out of a hat. I got “Voyage of the Damned” as my pick, as well as 2 male and 2 female characters. We were also supposed to have one character that would be portrayed by a “Mad Rolling Doll” roller derby skater. Try to guess what role she got below… it isn’t difficult. The whole experience was awesome, and they put on a great production. Read it below, in its entirety.
